In idyllic (their word, not ours, but I’m sure it’s nice) Armonk, N.Y., Westchester Magazine and Murphy Brothers Contracting are building a custom, luxury residence, complete with the latest interior and exterior amenities, upscale home furnishings, top-of-the-line appliances, lavish fixtures, and all other ornamental trimmings. And we’re pleased to say that Marvin windows and doors are part of that package. The minute the final details were added, a ribbon-cutting ceremony opened Westchester Magazine’s DreamHome 2009 to the public for four weeks of house tours in May (with proceeds from ticket sales going to a local non-profit).

Built in the Arts and Crafts style, Westchester Magazine’s DreamHome 2009 has simple, elegant architectural lines that exude warmth and charm. The home features world-class amenities in home design, furnishings, and technology. Interior features include three bedrooms, a master suite with sitting room, his and her closets, four full and two half baths, a kitchen with butler’s pantry, a breakfast room, a dining room, a spacious living room with fireplace, a family room with a fireplace, an office, a library, a recreation room with a fireplace, a complete gym, a home theatre, a wine cellar, a mud room, and a grand foyer. Complementing these interior features will be a terrace and pool, luscious gardens, gorgeous porches, a wood deck, a two-car attached garage and a two-car detached garage.

During the process of choosing the windows, project leaders from Murphy Brothers Contracting worked closely with the window and door experts at the Marvin Design Gallery by Authentic Window Design in White Plains.

“Marvin is recognized for innovation, for uncompromising product performance, and for very flexible design abilities,” said Anthony Riccobono, co-owner of AWD. “For Westchester Magazine’s DreamHome 2009, this meant we could provide the beautiful prairie style windows, and even French doors, while still having a very energy-efficient and extremely well-crafted wood product.”
